Variety: The CW has made its first series pickups for the new season, greenlighting dramas “Hart of Dixie,” “The Secret Circle,” “Ringer” and reality skein “H8R.”
TV Guide: Based on the three-book series from The Vampire Diaries author L.J. Smith, Secret Circle (which, along with Ringer, TVGuide.com had spotlighted as one of its 11 promising pilots) stars Britt Robertson as Cassie, a young girl who loses her mother, moves to a new town and discovers that she is a witch — the key to a battle between good and evil. Thomas Dekker co-stars and Diaries’ Kevin Williamson will executive-produce.
The Los Angeles Times: “Secret Circle” comes from Kevin Williamson, the showrunner behind the CW hit “Vampire Diaries,” and WBTV. Based on the young-adult novel series of the same name, the story follows a shy teenager who moves to a new town and discovers that she is a witch and belongs to a coven. Her powers can help unlock a centuries-old battle of good versus evil.
